The speakers are perfect for use in a den, bedroom, office or dorm room. Don't let the low price fool you. This is a Big name European manufacurer. We auditioned them at our stereo store and was surprised at how well they compared to other bookshelf speakers costing two or three times as much. We are pleasantly surprised at the amount of clean bass they produce. The sound is much more balanced than anything else in this price range.
The 5.25 inch woofer uses a PVA treated paper cone and foam surround. The tweeter is a 1 inch titanium done. Excellent sound for the price! The cabinet construction and materials are basic. It's made of 3/8" fiberboard with a simulated black woodgrain veneer. The removable speaker grille is made of black fabric stretched over a frame of the same black fiberboard. The all black color, combined with it's small size, make these bookshelf speakers almost disappear - perfect for small work spaces.
