Imagine a gateway to nearly limitless entertainment possibilities — and you've got Onkyo's TX-NR809. Blu-ray movies, HDTV programs, and video games propel you to new places with clear, digital sound to match the pristine images on-screen. The 'NR809's beefy 135-watt-per-channel amplifiers deliver plenty of sonic punch to your home theater speakers. And its state-of-the-art audio and video processors will have you thinking you really are where no one has gone before. But wait. The TX-NR809 is just getting warmed up.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
The front-panel USB input invites your iPod® for frequent visits. The direct connection doesn't just charge your iPod — it supercharges your music. This digital connection lets you take advantage of the 'NR809's built-in digital-to-analog converters, which run circles around the iPod's DAC. Connect the receiver to your home network via its Ethernet port, and you can enjoy music stored on your PC through your full-fledged, high-performance audio system, instead of a pair of pint-sized computer speakers. Plus you can also enjoy thousands of Internet radio stations — or let PANDORA® Internet radio create a set of customized "stations" based on your own tastes. Or add Onkyo's HD Radio tuner to listen to the free digital over-the-air programming that many AM and FM stations now broadcast.</div>

Fully checked out last year. Fully serviced and calibrated by my service center in California. The switches and pots have been cleaned. Mechanical parts have been lubricated. The heads are the original Akai glass heads. Pinch roller is brand new. Working and in good cosmetic condition. This is one well built (and heavy) deck, and is a very nice looking unit to top it all off.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">This is a classic
high quality vintage 1970's MARANTZ 2270 stereo receiver that may be one of the
finest of the vintage Marantz receivers. These vintage receivers are known for
their high quality sound and excellent build quality. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The vintage
Marantz receivers have the silver brushed aluminum faceplate with metal knobs,
large blue lighted tuning scale, and wood look vinyl veneer metal cabinet. The
receiver has been serviced and had all controls and switches cleaned and
lubricated. <o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-size: 18px;">It has been thoroughly cleaned and detailed and the faceplate & knobs were hand polished. </span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The amplifier section was checked and is in excellent working
condition and the DC offset was checked and adjusted as well as the idle
current. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Power output is a
strong 70 Watts per Channel which is underrated and this is a great receiver to
connect a Phono turntable, CD player or an IPOD with adapter RCA connects or
listen to the AM/FM stereo radio. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The receiver has a
high quality AM-FM tuning radio section with Gyro-Touch Tuning and the radio
section is in excellent working condition. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The receiver has Treble,
Midrange, & Bass control and a Loudness switch to boost frequency range at
low volume levels. There are inputs for 2- Phonos, Tape 1, Tape 2, and AUX and
the Tape and AUX inputs can also be used for CD or DVD analog or the IPOD
connect. There are Inputs for Main AMP IN and Preamp Out so these sections can
be used independently if desired. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QEzMiHNkS1Y/V9svoqNZCeI/AAAAAAAAs3E/X8MuGbwEM30AGVNP3VlyBsLGlCgISRX0QCLcB/s1600/00606_hZ8VxMElG3o_600x450.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="font-size: 18px; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QEzMiHNkS1Y/V9svoqNZCeI/AAAAAAAAs3E/X8MuGbwEM30AGVNP3VlyBsLGlCgISRX0QCLcB/s400/00606_hZ8VxMElG3o_600x450.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The 2270 receiver
can handle down to 4 Ohm speakers so a wide variety of speakers can be used.
Two pairs of speakers can be connected with an 8 Ohm minimum per pair. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Acoustic Zen Maestro: These sound unbelievable!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0MyLF1A3yVM/VxUidPdyG8I/AAAAAAAAsq4/nLSu0R3_pxU1q6CUkGVyr0lxVkMgb5mhQCLcB/s1600/maestro-walnut.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0MyLF1A3yVM/VxUidPdyG8I/AAAAAAAAsq4/nLSu0R3_pxU1q6CUkGVyr0lxVkMgb5mhQCLcB/s1600/maestro-walnut.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Maestro features a 2" horn loaded ribbon tweeter, a set of 5" and 8" midrange drivers, and two 10" woofers in a transmission line design. This speaker is capable of filling the largest rooms and effortlessly handling significant dynamics in music and movies. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Maestro has a time-aligned <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer" target="_blank">D'Appolito MTM </a>arrangement to provide life-like sound. The midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer loudspeaker configuration (called MTM, for short) was created by Joseph D'Appolito as a way of correcting the inherent lobe tilting of a typical mid-tweeter (MT) configuration, at the crossover frequency, unless time-aligned.[1] In the MTM arrangement the loudspeaker uses three drivers: Two mid-range (or mid-woofer/woofer) for the low frequencies and a tweeter for the higher frequencies, with the tweeter being placed between the mid-range drivers (as shown in the second image below). D'Appolito initially configured his design using a 3rd order (18 dB/oct or 60 dB/dec) crossover, D'Appolito has since amended this original recommendation in favor of 4th order topology. However, this does not impart any significant effect on the MTM design's unique characteristics.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The 8" driver handles the lower mid-range. The ribbon tweeter provides for extremely accurate, low-distortion sound with incredible clarity and detail. The curved cabinet reduces enclosure resonance and the baffle geometry reduces diffraction artifacts.</div>

<span style="text-align: center;">Akai GX-646. It simply looks and sounds superb!</span></h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S3svIuZyzxg/VlyU4Ixvu7I/AAAAAAAArls/g7CAXykWJd0/s1600/00d0d_9IUZKJNhjOV_600x450.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S3svIuZyzxg/VlyU4Ixvu7I/AAAAAAAArls/g7CAXykWJd0/s320/00d0d_9IUZKJNhjOV_600x450.jpg" width="295" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: center;">Here is a beautiful Akai GX-646. I love Akai decks for their looks as well as the sound. This deck is a 6 head deck, and plays and records in forward and reverse. This is one of the most advanced recorders ever built. The sound is incredible, absolutely brilliant on the high speed setting. This also has a Bias Adjustment to optimize the bias to the actual Tape you are using. I like the TDK and Maxell tape on this. Fabulous sound, clear and detailed. </span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I have cleaned and inspected this . Everything works, sound fantastic, playback is great. The sound quality of this machine is meant for the true audiophile. It has an extended frequency range with a very low noise level resulting in a wide dynamic range (S/N Ratio) and the ability to reproduce the most delicate sounds. Overall, this machine is in great working condition. Factory original settings on the heads. It can be used worldwide and has a voltage selector on the back to select from 110 / 220 volt and 50 / 60 hertz.</div>

When using uncompressed files, this amplifier has the ability to allow you to hear things in the music which you have not heard before. It will bring back the excitement of listening for the first time to that new album from your favourite artist, the same anticipation, but, with a curiously smooth and refined playback which you will not have experienced before. Yes. It is that good.<br />For CD playback it simply is astonishing and the audio quality and depth generated from such a small amplifier is beyond compare. great condition and excellent sounding . <h3 style="text-align: center;">
It has power to spare, a beautiful round mid-range and nice, controlled bass. The imaging is outstanding as well. As a longtime audio enthusiast, I have always held an appreciation for tube-based gear. </h3>

Rogue Audio have consistently introduced new tube audio products since the late 1990s. I like their approach of merging classic tube audio with modern internal components and design.</div>

From the Rouge Audio Owners manual available <a href="http://www.rogueaudio.com/manuals/Stereo90_Manual.pdf" target="_blank">here</a>: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Rouge Stereo 90 features a Triode/Ultralinear switch:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The output transformer of a tube amplifier acts as the electrical interface between the very</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
different impedances of the loudspeaker and the tube circuitry. There are three</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
fundamental ways that the output transformer can be connected to the tube circuit.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
1) Tetrode or Pentode connection – In this configuration, the highest power level</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
is achieved but at the expense of significantly higher distortion levels.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Practically speaking, this mode of operation is sonically inferior and has been</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
disregarded in the Stereo 90 design.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
2) Triode connection – With this configuration, the lowest level of distortion is</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
achieved but at the expense of output power. In the case of the Stereo 90, its</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
power level in triode is high enough that it will likely provide plenty of power</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for almost any speaker load.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
3) Ultralinear operation – With this configuration, power levels near those of</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
tetrode mode are achieved with low distortion levels that approach those of</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
triode operation. For loudspeakers that demand very high levels of power,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
ultralinear should provide excellent sound and plenty of power.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The triode/ultralinear switch allows the user to operate the Stereo 90 in either of</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the two modes. In general, the sonic differences are subtle but for a given</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
loudspeaker one mode is likely to sound better than the other. There is a</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
complex relationship between the output transformer and the crossover network</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so try both and see which one works best in your system. This switch can be</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
operated while the amplifier is playing but you will hear a small relay noise</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
through the loudspeaker. </div>

Audio Research SP-6B - Classic tube preamp!</h2>
This preamp is quite neutral, dynamic, and nicely transparent. All tube phono stage. Uses 12AX7s , a very common tube to find replacements for. I have no hesitation in recommending this piece of classic audio gear! The phono stage is where this preamp excels. The tone is neutral, and the sound stage is amazing! Besides the imaging, the wonder of ARC is the excellent build quality.<br />

The classic BBC monitor in natural cherry , The Spendor BCIII loudspeaker was introduced in 1979. It is a 4-way design based on the classic BCI. It also used an additional 12" driver for bass reinforcement. It is highly sought after and is very hard to find. Spendor remains among the few high-end speaker manufacturers that design and make their own drive-units. I have owned and listened to BC3s since 1978. For me, they have been the most natural-sounding and closest-to-electrostatic-character dynamic speakers I have yet heard, with the magic mid-range imaging.<br />

The BC3 needs a high current amp that can drive difficult, reactive loads. They have always been cited as difficult to drive. However, my old Dynaco Stereo 70 drove them without any problems.<br />

Musically engaging and extremely well built. Spendor approached the design of the BC3 much like the creation of a musical instrument. The result is a smooth, rich presentation with a brilliant midrange. This model was the standard for many British radio stations to this day.<br />
